Thai Boxing Coach

From as early as I could remember I always wanted to be a boxer, but my parents wouldn’t let me because they thought I would get brain damage! I did a variety of different sports growing up until around I was 11-12. This is when my life made a massive change. My parents had split up which was a good thing because my Mum, Brother and I got away from a terrible situation and were finally free so to say. That being said my mum is a nurse in the NHS which meant we barely had enough money just to get through each month so she couldn’t afford to send me to play football or boxing. However, when I was around 16-17 I was working part-time and a teacher in college told me I should try boxing that same day I went to a boxing gym. From there I got bored of boxing and at around 18 I wanted to Kickboxing/ Muay Thai because I have seen a lot of old fights and training footage of Buakaw who was my biggest inspiration. I always favoured slick technique so I needed to find a gym that could teach me stuff like that, after leaving and joining many gyms I found Jamie and Instinct Martial Arts and from there it all clicked from day 1. I have been at Instinct Martial arts for around 4 years now and the journey iv been on has been life-changing as a person and a martial artist. I am now an apprentice coach at Instinct which is great cause I can teach people what iv learned while still being a student myself.
